Bowie Helm is a native Houstonian and attended St. John’s School and The Lawrenceville School. A Finance and English Literature major in college, Bowie realized early on that he preferred a life of action to a life behind the desk. Bowie loves the opportunity to share his love for fitness and sport to the most trained athlete and weekend warrior alike.
Bowie ran track, played rugby, and skied at University of Colorado at Boulder. He was also involved in the Olympic Weightlifting program there, which planted his seed for a love of the sport. A Wilderness First Responder, Bowie has spent days in the backcountry rock climbing the Grand Teton in Wyoming and skiing the backcountry Colorado Rockies.
A five-year veteran of CrossFit, Bowie competed at a high level in the 2011 CrossFit Regionals Competition. While Bowie spent 2012 and 2013 creating GymBowie, he hopes to train and compete in the Games again in 2014. Bowie is a certified CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Rowing and USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach and former High School Track and Field Coach at St. John’s School.
