Welcome Carly Freer!

GymBowie is very excited to welcome Carly Freer to the coaching staff! You can read more about her here:

I started CrossFit a little over 4 years ago when my daughter was about 6 months old. I have been active and an athlete most of my life focusing on diving, gymnastics, cheerleading, and snowboarding, but after taking time to focus on my newborn and just pray she would sleep through the night, I had no more excuses to ignore the gym. I initially started CrossFit with the hope that it would give me a killer workout in 60 min and get me home to my baby without having to spend countless hours at a globo gym and not see results! And it did just that! 4 years later, I found my love for coaching, Olympic Weightlifting, and transformed my body into the best shape it’s every been in, wow time has flew! It feels like yesterday I was starting my first week of classes and sore but completely hooked. Coaching every year only gets better, and gymnastics is one of my favorite skills to teach!

About 2 years ago, I shifted my own training to focus more on Olympic Weightlifting and about a year ago found my current coach Bradford Kim and Kim Barbell. In less than a year, the growth in my knowledge, experience, and technique with Olympic Weightlifting and KBB, allowed me to qualify and compete in the 2016 USAW American Open, my biggest athletic accomplishment to date. Never did I think this was a possibility, nor that my body was capable of what it has done, and now I even have USAW National Championships in sight! The experience of this last few of years, amplifies my goals with CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, and coaching. I hope to be able share all my passion and love for all things fitness with the athletes of Gymbowie, and look forward to a prospective future together!carly
